Courses:

Chorus, Select Chorus, Music in Our Lives

Chorus 1/2 credit Grades 9 - 12                                                                                             

The chorus is a vocal ensemble open to all students, grades 9-12.  Students experience singing in various styles, learn the language of music and learn vocal technique.  The chorus performs in all school concerts.  Choral paticipation helps students learn to perform and cooperate as a group.                                                                             

Select Chorus  - 1/2 credit Grades 9-12 

The Select Corus, an advanced performing group, rehearses on Friday morning before school and is open by audition only.  Music performed includes not  only traditional literature, but Broadway, classical, Jazz styles as well.  The Select Chorus performs at all school concerts and special community events.

Music in Our Lives 1/2 credit Grades 9-12

           A continuation of General Music taught in the Middle School, this courses of study  includes listening and some perfroming.  An appreciation of music in further developed through the study of music history, a focus on listening and the social context of  music.   New technology in music will be included adding to the student's knowledge and sophistication in all elements of music.          ____________________________________________
